Baptist South

Baptist Medical Center South is one of the newest and most modern hospitals in Northeast Florida, treating 35,000 emergency patients per year. Opened as a 92-bed facility in 2005, construction of additional beds was undertaken within three months. It now has 120 suites, including maternity, intensive care units (ICU), and bed day stay. A new 8 story patient care tower is being built that will house 62 inpatient beds and a Newborn Intensive Care Unit. This institution is entirely filmless and paperless. All medical records are electronic and Computerized Physician Order Entry has provided an additional margin of safety for our patients. The spacious Emergency Department has seen patients at a rate well beyond predictions from opening day. A Fast Track area is provided for the expedited care of non-threatening illness and injury.

Baptist Medical Center South is a full service community hospital, offering a broad spectrum of medical and surgical services to adult patients. Pediatric patients requiring hospitalization are transferred to Wolfson Children’s Hospital and patients requiring invasive cardiology are transferred to Baptist Medical Center Downtown.
